In Rauzat al-Vaezeen it is narrated that Ameer al-Momineen (a.s) said
“Two kinds of people hurt me in this world: corrupt men who speak eloquently, and ignorant worshippers. People from the first group use nice words to cover up their wicked acts, and the second group hide their ignorance with their worshipping. Avoid sinful scientists and ignorant worshippers, since they will fool those who are attracted to them. I heard the Prophet (a.s) say: O' Ali! The destruction of my nation is through the hands of eloquent hypocrites.”
