Wasting

Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Woe betide the wasteful person, how far he is from self-improvement and from redressing his situation.

Imam Ali (AS) said, 'Wasting leads to stagnation [of wealth] whereas thriftiness causes it to thrive.

Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The giving of wealth to an undeserving cause is squandering and wasting.

Imam Zayn al-Abidin (AS) said in one of his supplications, '…hold me back from wastefulness, fortify my provision against ruin, increase my possessions through blessing them, and set me upon the path of guidance through piety in what I spend of it.
