Imam Baqir (a.s) quoted on the authority of God's Prophet (a.s)
“If friendliness was a creature that could be seen, God would not have created any better creature than that, and if non-compliance was a creature that could be seen, God would not have created any uglier creatures than that. A servant can attain the position of one who fasts and stays up at night to worship through being good-tempered.”
عن أبي جعفر (عليه السلام) قال
قال رسول الله (صلى الله عليه وآله): لو كان الرفق خلقا يرى ما خلق الله شيئا أحسن منه، ولو كان الخرق خلقا يرى ما كان مما خلق شئ أقبح منه، وإلى الله ليبلغ العبد بحسن الخلق درجة الصائم القائم.
