Abuzar wrote to Salman -may God have Mercy upon them: “You will not attain all that you wish to attain unless you abandon your selfish desires, and will not get what you want unless you are patient with what you dislike. Your words must be in remembrance of God. You should look in order to learn, and you should be pondering when you are silent. You should know that the weakest people are those who follow their selfish desires, and just ask God to fulfill their hopes, and the wisest people are those who are humble to God, and work for the Hereafter.”
