4. My father narrated to me from Sa’d ibn ‘Abdillāh, from Aḥmad ibn Muḥammad ibn ‘Isā, from ‘Abdil Raḥmān ibn Abī Najrān, Ḥusain ibn Sa’īd, and others, from Ḥammād ibn ‘Isā, from Muḥammad ibn Mas’ūd, who said
I saw Abā ‘Abdillāh (Imam Sādiq (a.s.)) going to the grave of the Messenger of Allāh (s.a.a.w.). When he arrived at the grave, he placed his hand on it and said: I ask Allāh who selected you, chose you, guided you, and guided (the creation) through you, to send His blessing on you. Then he recited: “Verily Allāh and His angels send blessings on the Prophet: O you who believe! Send your blessings on him, and salute him with all respect” (33:56).
4 حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي نَجْرَانَ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ وَ غَيْرِ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ عِيسَى عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ قَالَ
رَأَيْتُ أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ (ع) انْتَهَى إِلَى قَبْرِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ (ص) فَوَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ قَالَ أَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ الَّذِي اجْتَبَاكَ وَ اخْتَارَكَ وَ هَدَاكَ وَ هَدَى بِكَ أَنْ يُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْكَ ثُمَّ قَالَ إِنَّ اللّهَ وَ مَلائِكَتَهُ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَى النَّبِيِّ يا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا صَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَ سَلِّمُوا تَسْلِيماً
