Imam Ali (AS) said, Know that the tongue is a part of a persons body, so when he desists, speech will not assist him and when he opens up [and is ready to speak], speech will not give him time to pause.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ألا وَ إنَّ اللِّسانَ بَضْعَةٌ مِنَ الإنْسانِ فَلا يُسْعِدُهُ القَوْلُ إذَا امْتَنَعَ وَلايُمْهِلُهُ النُّطْقُ إذَا اتَّسَعَ
