Imam Ali (AS) said, And retaliation [has been ordained] as a prevention of bloodshed and the execution of punishments [has been ordained] for realising the importance of prohibitions.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : وَ القِصاصَ حَقْناً لِلدِّماءِ وَ إقامَةَ الحُدُودِ إعْظاماً لِلْمَحارِمِ
