Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The worst and gravest of sins is that which its perpetrator takes lightly.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): أشَدُّ الذُّنوبِ ما استَخَفَّ بهِ صاحِبُهُ.

Imam Ali (AS) said, 'The worst of sins in the sight of Allah is the sin which its perpetrator commits persistently.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): أعظَمُ الذُّنوبِ عِندَ اللّهِ ذنبٌ أصَرَّ عَليهِ عامِلُهُ.

Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘All sins are severe [in requital], but the severest of them are those that result in the growth of [polluted] flesh and blood.
الإمامُ الباقرُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): الذُّنوبُ كُلُّها شَديدةٌ وأشَدُّها ما نَبَتَ عَليهِ اللَّحمُ والدمُ.
