Imam Ali (AS), when asked about the gravest of the grave sins, said, 'Feeling secure from Allah's plan, giving up all hope of Allah's munificence, and despairing of Allah's mercy.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ لَمّا سُئِلَ عن أكبَرِ الكبائرِ ـ: الأمنُ مِن مَكرِ اللّهِ ، والإياسُ مِن رَوحِ اللّهِ ، والقُنُوطُ مِن رَحمَةِ اللّهِ .
