Luqman (AS) said in counsel to his son, ‘Sell your world for your Hereafter and you will attain both of them, but do not sell your Hereafter for your world for you will lose them both.
لقمانُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) ـ لابنِهِ وهو يَعِظُهُ ـ: بِعْ دُنياكَ بِآخِرَتِكَ تَربَحْهُما جميعاً ، ولا تَبِعْ آخِرَتَكَ بدُنياكَ تَخْسَرهما جميعاً .

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘The one who worships the world and prefers it over the Hereafter seeks an unhealthy outcome.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): مَن عَبَدَ الدنيا وآثَرَها على الآخرةِ استَوخَمَ العاقِبةَ .

Imam Ali (AS) said, ‘No sooner do people abandon an aspect of their religion in order to advance their worldly affairs than Allah will inflict them with something that is more detrimental than that.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ): لا يَترُكُ الناسُ شيئاً مِن أمرِ دينِهِم لاستِصلاحِ دُنياهُم إلّا فَتَحَ اللّهُ علَيهِم ما هو أضَرُّ مِنهُ.
