Imam al-Baqir (AS) said, ‘You were not betrayed by a trustworthy man, rather you trusted a traitor.
الإمامُ الباقرُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : لَم يَخُنْكَ الأمينُ ، ولكنِ ائْتَمَنتَ الخائنَ.

Imam al-Sadiq (AS) said, ‘It makes no difference to me to trust a traitor or a careless man.
الإمامُ الصّادقُ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ما اُبالي ائْتَمَنْتُ خائناً أو مُضَيّعاً.
