Imam Ali (AS) said, The haughty oppressor is destroyed by his sins.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : المُتَجَبِّرُ الظّالِمُ تُوبِقُهُ آثامُهُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, I am amazed at the arrogant one who was [nothing but] a drop of semen yesterday and will tomorrow be [just] a corpse.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : عَجِبْتُ لِمُتَكَبِّر كانَ أمْسِ نُطْفَةً وَ هُوَ فِي غَد جيفَةً

Imam Ali (AS) said, One who wears the attires of arrogance and extravagance takes off the attires of merit and honour.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ لَبِسَ الكِبْرَ وَ السَّرَفَ خَلَعَ الفَضْلَ وَ الشَّرَفَ
