Imam Ali (AS) said, Malice is from the nature of the wicked.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلحِقْدُ مِنْ طَبايِعِ الأشْرارِ
hadith 2142
Imam Ali (AS) said, Spite is a fire that is not put out except by vanquish. (It is a raging fire that is not put out by anything other than death or vanquish).
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : الحِقْدُ نارٌ لاتُطْفَيُ إلاّ بِالظَّفَرِ (نارٌ كامِنَةٌ لايُطْفِئُها إلاّ مَوْتٌ أوْ ظَفَرٌ)

Imam Ali (AS) said, Malice wears away [its possessor].
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلحِقْدُ يُذْرِي

Imam Ali (AS) said, Spite is the trait of the jealous ones.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلحِقْدُ شيمَةُ الحَسَدَةِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Malice is a painful ailment and an infectious disease.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلحِقْدُ داءٌ دَوِيٌّ وَ مَرَضٌ مُوبِي

Imam Ali (AS) said, Malice is a vile characteristic and a fatal sickness.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلحِقْدُ خُلْقٌ دَنِيٌّ وَمَرَضٌ مُرْدِي

Imam Ali (AS) said, Keep away from harbouring grudges against each other, hating each other, quarrelling with one other and not lending a supporting hand to each other, [and by doing this] you will gain mastery over your affairs.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : تَجَنَّبُوا تَضاغُنَ القُلُوبِ وَتَشاحُنَ الصُّدُورِ وَ تَدابُرَ النُّفُوسِ وَتَخاذُلَ الأيْدي تَمْلِكُوا أمْرَكُمْ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The cornerstone of flaws is spite.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : رَأسُ العُيُوبِ الحِقْدُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The cause of discord is malice.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : سَبَبُ الفِتَنِ الحِقْدُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The worst thing that resides in the heart is malice.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : شَرُّ ما سَكَنَ القَلْبَ الحِقْدُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Extreme malice stems from the intense jealousy.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : شِدَّةُ الحِقْدِ مِنْ شِدَّةِ الحَسَدِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Purify your hearts from malice, for it is an infectious disease.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : طَهِّرُوا قُلُوبَكُمْ مِنَ الحِقْدِ فَإنَّهُ داءٌ مُوبِيٌ

Imam Ali (AS) said, In times of difficulty, feelings of malice disappear.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : عِنْدَ الشَّدائِدِ تَذْهَبُ الأَحْقادُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, One who eliminates malice [from his heart], his heart and mind become relaxed.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنِ اطَّرَحَ الحِقْدَ اسْتَراحَ قَلْبُه وَ لُبُّهُ
