Imam Ali (AS) said, Knowledge is the enlivener of the soul, the illuminator of the intellect and the annihilator of ignorance.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلْعِلْمُ مُحْيِي النَّفْسِ وَ مُنِيرُ العَقْلِ وَ مُمِيتُ الجَهْلِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The most victorious of all people is he who overpowers his vain desire with his knowledge.

Imam Ali (AS) said, Every time the knowledge of a person increases, his concern for his soul increases, and he exerts his efforts in training and reforming it.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : كُلَّمَا ازْدادَ عِلْمُ الرَّجُلِ زادَتْ عِنايَتُهُ بِنَفْسهِ وَبَذَلَ في رِياضَتِها وَصِلاحِها جُهْدَهُ
