hadith 4467
Imam Ali (AS) said, Islam means submission [to the will of Allah], and submission means certitude, and certitude means attestation, and attestation means confirmation, and confirmation means execution, and execution means action.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : الإسْلامُ هُوَ التَّسليمُ وَ التَّسْليمُ هُوَ اليَقيْنُ وَ اليَقيْنُ هُوَ التَّصْديقُ وَالتَّصْديقُ هُوَ الإقْرارُ وَ الإقْرارُ هُوَ الأداءُ وَ الأداءُ هُوَ العَمَلُ

hadith 4468
Imam Ali (AS) said, Verily Islam has a goal, so strive towards its goal and proceed towards Allah by fulfilling that which He has ordained upon you of His rights.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : إنَّ للإسْلامِ غايَةً فَانْتَهُوا إلى غايَتِهِ وَ اخْرُجُوا إلَى اللّهِ مِمّا افْتَرَضَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِنْ حُقُوقِهِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Islam is the most illuminated course.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : اَلإسْلامُ أبْلَجُ المَناهِجِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, And he (‘a) said about Islam: It is an instruction for the resolute, a sign for the one who examines it [carefully], a lesson for the one who takes heed and a salvation for the one who accepts it.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : وقال ـ عليه السّلام ـ في ذكرِ الإسْلامِ: تَبْصِرَةٌ لِمَنْ عَزَمَ وَ آيَةٌ لِمَنْ تَوَسَّمَ وَعِبْرَةٌ لِمَنِ اتَّعَظَ وَ نَجاةٌ لِمَنْ صَدَّقَ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The embellishment of Islam is performing righteous actions.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : زينَةُ الإسْلامِ إعْمالُ الإحْسانِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Allah has prescribed Islam for you and has made its laws easy, and He has strengthened its pillars against those who wage war with it.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : شَرَعَ اللّهُ لَكُمُ الإسْلامَ فَسَهَّلَ شَرايِعَهُ وَ أعَزَّ أرْكانَهُ على مَنْ حارَبَهُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The outward side of Islam is radiant and its inward aspect is elegant.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : ظاهِرُ الإسْلامِ مُشْرِقٌ وَ باطِنُهُ مُونِقٌ

Imam Ali (AS) said, The objective of Islam is [complete] submission [to the will of Allah].
