Imam Ali (AS) said, The goodness of inward thoughts is evidence of the soundness of insight.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : صَلاحُ السَّرائِرِ بُرْهانُ صِحَّةِ البَصائِرِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, Blessed is the one whose inward thoughts are good, whose outward [character] is righteous and who does not harm the people.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : طُوبى لِمَنْ صَلُحَتْ سَريرَتُهُ وَ حَسُنَتْ عَلانِيَتُهُ وَ عَزَلَ عَنِ النَّاسِ شَرَّهُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, When the consciences are being reformed, the hidden rancour becomes evident.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : عِنْدَ تَصْحيحِ الضَّمائِرِ يَبْدُو غِلُّ السَّرائِرِ

Imam Ali (AS) said, When the outward gets corrupted, the inward also get corrupted.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : عِنْدَ فَسادِ العَلانِيَةِ تَفْسُدُ السَّريرَةُ

Imam Ali (AS) said, One whose inward [feeling] is good, his outward [character] is righteous.
الإمامُ عليٌّ (عَلَيهِ الّسَلامُ) : مَنْ حَسُنَتْ سَريرَتُهُ حَسُنَتْ عَلانِيَتُهُ
